One of my favorite places to explore is St. John, in the US Virgin Islands. The majority of the island is a National Park, so it is immaculately preserved, and the beaches are breathtakingly beautiful. STJ is home to Trunk Bay, which is rated the #2 most beautiful beach in the world! It’s also home to Honeymoon Beach in Caneel Bay, along with Cinammon Bay and a slew of other gorgeous beaches that aren’t far behind in the rankings. Y’all, I’ve been to beaches on all parts of the northern hemisphere, and these are hand’s-down he most gorgeous I’ve ever seen!
Apart from the beaches and the sparkling turquoise waters, STJ has a lively and fun culture. Cruz Bay is like a little seaside village, teeming with unique restaurants, bars, and shops. There are no chains on the island, so everything is special in its own way. We love Cruz Bay Landing for breakfast and their delicious coffee cocktails (think: creamy cold-brewed hazelnut iced coffee with coconut rum!), and High Tide Bar & Seafood Grille for lunch and their conch fritters and their grilled shrimp Caprese salad.
After lunch, I stumbled upon the cutest little boutique EVER! It’s called the Turquoise Turtle, and it’s a tiny little shop filled to the brim with dreamy beachwear. Gauzy, linen tops and skirts, tassel-lined cover-ups, beach dresses, airy scarfs, pastel colors, delicate jewelry, embroidered clutches, and literally everything sweet vacation wardrobe dreams are made of.
This 1st cover-up is soft white linen, cut in a v-shape and lined with colorful tassels. It is beachwear perfection! It’s made to go over a swimsuit, but it could easily be worn over a slim-fitting white tank and cutoff denim shorts or skinny jeans for a casual summer look.
This pretty pink dress is also made to be a cover-up, but I’m on the lookout for a slim-fitting slip to wear underneath it, so I can wear it anywhere and everywhere else. I am in love with the ruffled sleeves and obsessed with the delicate hot pink embroidering and pretty white poms!
The rest of the merch in the Turquoise Turtle was literally to-die-for and I wanted to bring home every single piece with me. I’m already counting down the days until I’m back on STJ, and I’ll be bringing another suitcase with me so I can take it all home J
